Dear reader,

You want us to tell you everything about our time in St. Johann?

Sorry, but we can't tell you everything …

… here is just a little collection of what we think you should know:

On Monday morning a coach full of excited, chatting students went to St. Johann. The bus ride itself was great fun. We laughed a lot, talked a lot of nonsense and even sang some songs. We finally arrived in St. Johann at around lunchtime.

The youth hotel where we stayed was pretty nice.

Our rooms were on the first floor so we had to carry our own bags up there.

The rooms were not so fantastic, but they were okay. What I really enjoyed was sleeping in a bunk bed ;-) The bathroom, however, was much too small – just imagine: there were 6 GIRLS in the room and we had to share one tiny bathroom. The boys had better rooms and bigger bathrooms , but it was just for three days, so that's okay!

The rooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms were huge [teacher's comment: no joke! The boys' rooms were really much bigger :-))]

Lunch on the first day wasn't really good so some of us ate crisps and other unhealthy stuff instead. I can't remember what we had, but all in all it was okay: not yummy but not yucky either. The barbecue we had for lunch on Tuesday was great. We sat outside, enjoying the fantastic view and eating far too much!

On Monday afternoon we did a 'photorallye'. A 'photorallye'? Yes, that's what they called it at the Youth Hotel in Weitenmoos. It's a kind of treasure hunt. We had to get together in groups of up to 5 and choose a leader. He or she got a folder with photos of restaurants, shops and other things in it and we had to answer questions like What's the name of...? Where is …?. It was quite hard because we first had to walk down to the village (yes, things were spread all over Alpendorf) and then all the way up to the hotel! It was really hot that day so when we came back to the hotel we were all exhausted. Thank God we had some free time after that!

The second day was the funniest, hardest, hottest and most wonderful day all in one. That day we did some team building activities. We were in groups of 12 and played lots of different games the whole day long. We rode a 'Bockerl', talked to goats, played strange games with ropes, crates, wooden boards and lots of other materials; we laughed a lot. Many of the activities were exhausting, but great fun at the same time.

The best activity was riding a “Bockerl” down the hill. Now, you'd surely like to know what a “Bockerl” is. Well, have a look at the pictures and you'll know – for those of you who are too lazy to look at the pictures – it's like a little bike but without pedals.

In the evening some of the boys played football against another school. Then we had the award winning ceremony of the treasure hunt and after that we all sat around a camp-fire. A few kids sang Christmas songs (no idea why :S)

Later we went up to our rooms and sat down in the corridor. There was that 'stupid' rule that we weren't allowed to go into our classmates' bedrooms. That was really annoying :-(.

On the last day we had to pack our suitcases and then we had breakfast (some packed their bags in a hurry after breakfast). At about 9.30 we went for a walk. When we came back to the youth hostel at around 11 o'clock the bus was already waiting for us.

It was fantastic – well at least that's what I think, but I'm sure that the others would agree. We had great fun and we really enjoyed our time at St. Johann. We did quite a lot together, but we also had enough time to style our hair, to put make up on each other's faces and take loads of photos.

Guess it's time we stop writing now otherwise you'll be really jealous …

Yours

5ABC

P.S.: We took a lot of pictures!
